SEARCH AND DESTROY

Search and Destroy was created in a 2 day workshop with Jessica Hexler and Yasmin Khan. This project was a group project that I collaborated with Theresa Liu on. For this project we were allowed to choose a song from a playlist made by Jessica and Yasmin, then we were asked to choose 2 additional songs of our choice to contextualize a project. We chose Tv Party by Black Flagg from the given playlist and then our additional songs were Search and Destroy by Iggy Pop and Earth Angel by The Penguins.

We created a poster that takes the form of a warped google search. The search begins with American housewives of the 1950's and ends with Alternative youth cultures of the 1980's. This visual narrative shows the evolution of cultural standards and norms that the punk generation was rejecting to follow.
